Jacobs Project Management will continue its multiyear contract with Federal Engineering to provide implementation support for the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System (LA-RICS) project.
“Federal Engineering has been providing technical assistance for several years now,” said Chris Odenthal, Jacobs LA-RICS program manager. “They were instrumental in supporting the systems procurement process and in vendor contract negotiations. We value Federal Engineering’s continued participation from a team cohesion perspective, as well as their understanding of the programs’ complexities.”
Federal Engineering will visit in-progress and completed LA-RICS transmission sites to evaluate the telecommunications system contractor's construction methodologies and practices in the conduct of the LA-RICS site builds. The company will also assist in ensuring that the telecommunications system contractor follows industry best practices in the construction of LA-RICS facilities.
The firm will also review and assess the LA-RICS project's system architecture, design criteria, and standards; evaluate and make recommendations on changes in scope of work; conduct quality control/quality assurance inspections and provide reports; and manage, coordinate and validate systems acceptance criteria; among other tasks.
