Terry Daniels, chairman of the board of Daniels Electronics, was honored with the Fred M. Link award; Ralph Haller, chairman of the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC), received the Barry Goldwater Amateur Radio award; and Don Root Jr., assistant manager, wireless services division, San Diego Sheriff's Department, received the NPSTC Fourth Annual Richard DeMello award.

Daniels’ award was presented for his substantial contribution to the advancement and development of LMR and communications. “Terry has been a driving force behind Daniels Electronics for the past 50 years, and as a result, Daniels Electronics is a pioneering leader in radio communications in Canada and internationally,” said Robert Small, president and CEO for Daniels. “I and all the staff at Daniels extend our congratulations to Terry on this prestigious award.”

The President’s Award was given to Carole J. Perry, who has spent years educating middle school and high school students about amateur radio. Richard P. Biby and Carroll Hollingsworth were awarded special service awards.

John Facella gave the address for the attendees who were named fellows. Other fellows included Charles G. Benn, Chris Fischer, Edward Gable, Robert Gurss, Manny Gutsche, Samuel Klein, Frederick Raab, Robert Shapiro, Walter “Jon” Stewart and Lawrence De George (posthumously).
