Tait Issues SDoCs for P25 Equipment (2/24/10)

Tait Radio Communications announced it issued test reports and supplier’s declaration of compliance (SDoCs) statements as part of the inaugural P25 Compliance Assessment Program (CAP) tests. Harris released the first SDoCs earlier this month.

The purpose of the documentation is to provide emergency response agencies with evidence that Tait Project 25 (P25) equipment has been tested within a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)-approved laboratory and complies with Phase 1 standards and performance requirements as established by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).

Tait TP9100 portable radios and TM9100 mobile radios have been through rigorous and objective tests with several certified manufacturers. In addition, Tait and EADS North America hosted an interoperability event to allow other manufacturers’ subscribers to be tested with Tait TB9100/EADS CORP25 infrastructure.

The SDoCs are now available on the Responder Knowledge Base Web site with each document outlining the product tested, the version tested, other vendor products that it was tested against and pass/fail results for each feature.

“With the release of SDoCs, prospective radio buyers now have the confidence that Tait radios and infrastructure will work seamlessly with those of other manufacturers,” said Tait Americas President Steve Cragg. “The CAP program has been satisfying for Tait staff to gain formal recognition that our products are interoperable with radios and infrastructure of other manufacturers. We have also learned a lot about how we can continuously improve our radios to ensure interoperable communications are a long-term assurance.”
